Veterinary Technician Assistant

Overview

Duties

• Assist veterinary staff with animal restraint and handling during examinations and procedures
• Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and supplies
• Collect, label, and process laboratory samples such as blood, urine, or tissue specimens
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment areas, kennels, and laboratories
• Monitor animal health and behavior, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff
• Support administrative tasks including filing, record keeping, and appointment scheduling
• Help with inventory management by stocking supplies and ordering as needed
• Provide compassionate care to animals including feeding, bathing, and comfort measures

Skills

• Prior laboratory experience is highly desirable for accurate sample collection and processing
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Compassionate attitude toward animals and clients
• Good communication skills to collaborate with veterinary staff and clients
