Virtual Paralegal

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Virtual Paralegal to support a growing legal practice. This role will primarily focus on legal research, drafting legal memoranda and briefing materials, and assisting with case preparation under the guidance of the firm's existing paralegal.

The ideal candidate is someone who values professionalism, accuracy, continuous learning, and shares our commitment to making legal services more accessible while representing the firm's mission and brand with integrity.

This position is intended to support the firm's long-term succession plan by working alongside the current senior paralegal and gradually taking on additional responsibilities over time.

Work Schedule:

  • Part-time, Monday to Friday, 20 hours per week
  • Aligned primarily with Eastern Time Zone (ET) business hours.

Responsibilities:

Legal Research

  • Conduct comprehensive legal research using online legal databases and other reliable sources.
  • Research statutes, regulations, case law, and legal precedents relevant to assigned matters.
  • Organize research findings into concise and actionable summaries.

Legal Writing & Documentation

  • Draft legal memoranda, research briefs, and case summaries with proper legal citations.
  • Assist in preparing legal documents for attorney review.
  • Maintain consistency, accuracy, and professionalism across all written work.

Case Preparation Support

  • Assist with gathering supporting legal authorities and documentation for ongoing matters.
  • Organize case files and maintain accurate digital records.
  • Help prepare materials needed for court filings or attorney review.

Administrative Support

  • Maintain organized electronic files and legal documents.
  • Track assigned tasks and deadlines.
  • Communicate progress and provide timely status updates.
  • Perform additional administrative or legal support tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant, or Legal Researcher.
  • Strong legal research skills.
  • Familiarity with U.S. legal terminology and legal research practices.
  • Excellent legal writing and documentation abilities.
  • Experience preparing legal memoranda or research briefs.
  • Exceptional written English communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Highly organized with excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Comfortable receiving feedback and implementing revisions.
  • High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
