Position Summary
Voz de Niños CASA is seeking a motivated, organized, and community-minded professional to serve as our Volunteer Recruitment & Training Coordinator. This position plays a critical role in building and sustaining the volunteer base that powers our mission.
The Coordinator leads efforts to recruit, screen, onboard, train, and engage CASA volunteers while serving as a visible ambassador for the organization throughout the Laredo community. This role is ideal for someone who can take initiative, build relationships quickly, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a mission-driven environment.
We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and bring energy, professionalism, and creativity to volunteer engagement efforts. This role requires leading all volunteer training efforts, including conducting a minimum of four volunteer trainings per year and recruiting a minimum of 20 volunteers per year. Additionally, stepping in to support other program support roles such as the assignment of cases to support children.
Key ResponsibilitiesVolunteer Recruitment & Community Outreach
- Lead year-round volunteer recruitment efforts to meet agency goals
- Develop partnerships with local businesses, colleges, churches, civic groups, and community organizations
- Coordinate outreach events, information sessions, and presentations
- Represent Voz de Niños CASA in the community to increase awareness and volunteer interest
- Maintain an active pipeline of volunteer inquiries and applicants
Volunteer Screening & Onboarding
- Manage volunteer application process from recruitment, screening, vetting, training and case assignment inquiry through acceptance
- Conduct interviews and initial screening of volunteer candidates
- Coordinate background checks, references, and required documentation
- Maintain accurate volunteer files in accordance with agency and Texas CASA standards
Volunteer Training
- Development of a training calendar inclusive of at least 4 volunteer trainings per year
- Facilitation of all volunteer trainings
- Organize continuing education and in-service training opportunities
- Maintain regular communication with volunteers and respond to questions or needs
Communications & Marketing Support
- Assist with social media, website updates, newsletters, and recruitment campaigns
- Promote training classes, volunteer opportunities, and special events
Data Tracking & Administrative Support
- Maintain volunteer statistics and prepare reports for grants, board, and regulatory needs
- Track recruitment, onboarding, and retention metrics
- Support fundraising events and other agency initiatives as needed
QualificationsRequired
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience
- 2+ years of experience in volunteer management, nonprofit programs, training, recruitment, education, or community engagement
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable with public speaking and presenting to groups
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently
- Must be willing to work occasional weekends and evenings
- Out of town travel to conduct trainings or conduct child visits when applicable
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace
Preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Experience working in nonprofit, child welfare, education, or court-related settings
- Knowledge of the Laredo/Webb County community and local networks

Benefits
This position is full-time and pays $36,000/year and includes the following benefits:
