Position Type: Volunteer/Part-time

Centurions Michigan is a dedicated anti-human trafficking nonprofit organization committed to protecting vulnerable individuals and dismantling trafficking networks. Our mission is to educate the community on human trafficking and aid law enforcement on all levels to identify, rescue and rehabilitate victims of human trafficking.

Position Summary:

The Social Media Specialist plays a vital role in advancing Centurions Michigan’s mission by managing and growing our social media presence. This individual will create and share compelling content that raises awareness about human trafficking, engages the community, promotes organizational initiatives, and supports fundraising and volunteer recruitment efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a social media content strategy aligned with the organization’s mission and goals.
  • Manage and maintain Centurions Michigan’s official social media accounts (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok).
  • Create and schedule engaging posts, stories, and campaigns to raise awareness and encourage community involvement.
  • Monitor social media channels for engagement opportunities, messages, and comments; respond promptly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with program teams to promote events, initiatives, and volunteer opportunities.
  • Track and analyze social media metrics to measure reach, engagement, and impact; provide regular reports to leadership.
  • Stay current with social media trends, best practices, and platform updates to ensure effective outreach.
  • Ensure all content aligns with the organization’s brand, values, and messaging guidelines.
  • Support digital fundraising campaigns and awareness events through targeted social media strategies.
  • Uphold confidentiality and sensitivity when sharing stories related to survivors or investigations.

Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of major social media platforms and content creation tools.
  • Excellent written communication and storytelling skills.
  • Knowledge of social media analytics and performance tracking.
  • Passion for social justice, human rights, or anti-human trafficking work.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and collaborate with a team.
  • Background checks and relevant clearances are required.

Pay: Up to $1.00 per hour

Work Location: Remote
