Desktop Support Technician

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Desktop Support Technician to join our IT support team. In this role, you will be the frontline hero for resolving technical issues, ensuring seamless computer management, and maintaining the health of our IT infrastructure. Your energetic approach and customer service skills will empower users to operate efficiently and confidently across various operating systems, including Windows and macOS. Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to end-users by diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues promptly.
  • Manage computer systems, including installation, configuration, updates, and maintenance of desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
  • Assist users with operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and Linux to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot software problems related to Microsoft Office applications, enterprise tools like ServiceNow, Jira, BMC Remedy, and other productivity software.
  • Support computer networking tasks including LAN (Local Area Network), VPN (Virtual Private Network), firewall configurations, and connectivity issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of support requests using help desk tools like ServiceNow or Jira; escalate complex issues as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve IT support processes and contribute to maintaining a secure IT environment through firewall management and security best practices.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in technical support or desktop support roles with a strong focus on customer service excellence.
  • Solid knowledge of operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and Linux.
  • Familiarity with computer hardware components and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Experience managing computer networks including LAN setup, VPN access, firewalls, and basic IT infrastructure components.
  • Proficiency in using help desk ticketing systems like ServiceNow or BMC Remedy for issue tracking.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Pay: $30.66 - $45.10 per hour
