Disney Entertainment Television (DET) — the television production arm of The Walt Disney Company — is searching for a motivated television enthusiast who is interested in using data to tell stories. This person will be part of a team that works across Disney platforms (Linear, Disney+, YouTube) to analyze kids content and the kids media landscape. A distinguishing characteristic of the internship is the ability to work hands-on with real data and relay that information to all departments across DET and several within the larger Walt Disney Company.

A Day in the Life…

You will be guided by a team dedicated to ensuring you are properly taught, have the required access and software/tools, and gain the experience necessary to pursue a future career in data and analytics in the TV industry. You will:

  • Gain hands-on experience reporting on key TV industry trends and program viewership

  • Expand your BI technology skills (e.g. Excel, Looker, Tableau, etc.)

  • Help improve data warehousing processes

  • Learn Nielsen and other software and business intelligence tools to report on program performance

  • Discuss the changing TV landscape with experienced industry professionals

What we are looking for…

(Basic Qualifications)

  • Proficiency with Excel, including lookups, arrays, pivot tables, and conditional formulas

  • Proficiency with PowerPoint and Outlook

  • Proficiency in algebra and statistics

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Extraordinarily organized and detail oriented

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

(Preferred Qualifications)

  • Experience working with large files/datasets

  • Experience with Looker, Tableau, NPower, or StarTrak

Required Education:

  • To be eligible for this internship you must be a junior, senior or a recent graduate (within 6 months of your graduation date) pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in in analytical or quantitative discipline.

Additional Details:

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and possess unrestricted work authorization

  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.

  • Must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session

  • Must be able to work on-site in Burbank and provide your own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship

  • Program Length: The approximate dates of this internship are January 2024 - June 2024. Candidate must be available to work 40 hours/week.
