Job Description

St Peter’s Girls Prep is an independent, Anglican, Diocesan school. We are known for our innovative approach to education and the warmth of our community. The school seeks educators who are committed to the profession and best practice, who embrace a culture of continual growth and learning and have a deep empathy for children and a passion for teaching and learning.

An opportunity exists for a Grade 3 or 4 Teacher to join the Girls Prep Management Team as the Head of Middle School from January 2024.

Duties (not an exhaustive list):

  • Grade 3 or 4 Class Teacher
  • Mentor, support and develop intern teachers, if required
  • Participate in extracurricular activities as required
  • Teach according to the St Peter's Prep Schools Best Practice pedagogy
  • Lead and inspire a team of teachers to create an engaging and innovative middle school curriculum that promotes academic excellence and personal growth – values based
  • Foster a positive and inclusive culture that supports the social, emotional, and academic development of pupils
  • Collaborate with parents, guardians, and the broader community to create a supportive and nurturing environment for pupils
  • Oversee the budget for the middle school, ensuring efficient resource allocation to support pupils needs
  • Continuously evaluate and improve the middle school curriculum to align with best practices and emerging educational trends

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant Qualification
  • Class Teacher Experience
  • Proven Experience in a Leadership Role
  • SACE Registration

  • A willingness to support and mentor, and to be mentored
  • The flexibility, ability, and willingness to work outside school hours, when necessary
  • A commitment to ongoing personal development and a future-orientated approach
