It Intern

Intact Insurance is currently seeking students who are interested in Software Development and want to learn from a successful IT team. In this role you will have the opportunity to join a development team and experience the full systems development life cycle on a variety of applications. These are full-time paid Co-ops / Internships located in Canton, MA and Salem, VA.

Responsibilities:

• Join a motivated team of IT professionals practicing the Scrum methodology.
• Partner with members of your team to design, develop, test, and implement solutions in web applications, services and batch jobs.
• Diagnose and fix problems reported by testers and users.
• Collaborate with individuals and teams, both technical and non-technical, across the company.
• Learn as much as you can.

Requirements:

• Experience with an object-oriented programming language, such as Java or C#.
• Competency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Some knowledge frontend technologies like Angular, React and backend technologies like .Net or Java is a plus.
• Some relational database experience.
• Ability to write queries.
• Understanding of tables, views, stored procedures, and keys.
• Experience with MS SQL Server is preferred.

Experience and Education:

• You must be working towards a bachelor's degree.
• Have taken some Computer Science coursework or have relevant self-taught experience.

Salary Range: $21 - $23 per hour
