Retail Assistant Manager

Responsibilities

• Oversee store operations, including opening and closing procedures, shift management, and ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Lead and supervise a team of sales associates, providing coaching, training, and development to foster a high-performing environment.
• Manage inventory control, including stock replenishment, merchandising, pricing strategies, and conducting regular stock audits.
• Deliver outstanding customer service by addressing inquiries promptly, resolving issues efficiently, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Handle payroll processing, cash handling, POS (Point of Sale) transactions, and bookkeeping tasks accurately.
• Coordinate purchasing activities and assist with vendor negotiations to optimize product selection and pricing.
• Support marketing initiatives by implementing promotional displays and engaging in local marketing efforts to boost store visibility.

Skills

• Proven experience in retail management or assistant manager roles with supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Excellent communication skills in English
• Proficiency in inventory management systems, POS technology, cash handling procedures, and retail math.
• Demonstrated expertise in employee orientation, interviewing, recruiting, training & development programs.
• Sound knowledge of budgeting, sales management strategies, merchandising techniques, and store operations.
• Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail in bookkeeping and administrative tasks.
• Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during shift management.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week

Work Location: In person
