Overview
We are seeking an energetic and motivated Retail Assistant Manager to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will lead daily store operations, motivate and develop staff, and ensure an exceptional shopping experience for our customers. Your leadership will drive sales, optimize inventory management, and uphold the highest standards of customer service. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a proactive individual with strong management skills to make a significant impact in a fast-paced retail environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee store operations, including opening and closing procedures, shift management, and ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Lead and supervise a team of sales associates, providing coaching, training, and development to foster a high-performing environment.
- Manage inventory control, including stock replenishment, merchandising, pricing strategies, and conducting regular stock audits.
- Deliver outstanding customer service by addressing inquiries promptly, resolving issues efficiently, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Handle payroll processing, cash handling, POS (Point of Sale) transactions, and bookkeeping tasks accurately.
- Coordinate purchasing activities and assist with vendor negotiations to optimize product selection and pricing.
- Support marketing initiatives by implementing promotional displays and engaging in local marketing efforts to boost store visibility.
Skills
- Proven experience in retail management or assistant manager roles with supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Proficiency in inventory management systems, POS technology, cash handling procedures, and retail math.
- Demonstrated expertise in employee orientation, interviewing, recruiting, training & development programs.
- Sound knowledge of budgeting, sales management strategies, merchandising techniques, and store operations.
- Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail in bookkeeping and administrative tasks.
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during shift management.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
Work Location: In person
