Terminal/Operations Manager – Liquid Bulk Transportation

Andrews Logistics, an Asset-based family owned and operated liquid bulk trucking company is seeking THE HIGHEST PERFORMING Terminal/Operations Manager for its new Lansing, IL location. Will compensate accordingly based on experience. This is a new expansion terminal opening to support our existing and new customers in this market. The perfect candidate will be a team player with a strong work ethic, integrity, and initiative. Will understand and have experience in leading and managing drivers to maximize service and performance as well as communicate well with other terminal locations around the country to support logistics planning in this market. We have the best existing customer base in the country looking to us to expand and support their business in this market as we look to add additional customers that value safety and service as well. We pay our drivers well and run late model equipment from all our facilities.

SUMMARY:

Manage all aspects of the terminal to include hiring the best and retaining the best while operating safely and profitably.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Function as a Leader.

· Develop a professional but meaningful relationship with each driver in order to insure his/her needs are being met by the company.

· Coordinates activities of operations to obtain optimum use of personnel and equipment.

· Communicate and coordinate well with other terminal Logistics Planners to coordinate backhaul pickups and deliveries in the Chicago & Midwest market.

· P&L Management: meeting and exceeding goals.

· Manages the facility hiring process by selecting the best qualified applicants for office staffing and driver staffing.

· Communicate timely and effectively with customers

· Advocate and maintain commitment to safety by utilizing Target Zero program.

· Promote and maintain positive attitude with drivers, staff and supervisors.

· Perform all other duties as specified by Regional Operations Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

· 3+ Years in Bulk Transportation planning or management.

· Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

· Ability to multi-task and make informed business decision in fast moving industry.

· High level of self-motivation.

· Efficient computer skills

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor degree preferred and/or equivalent related experience in the bulk industry.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Fast-paced transportation terminal environment at our office in Lansing, IL.

WORK HOURS AND AVAILABILITY:

Designated work location at office or terminal for an average of 45 to 50 hours per week.
