Job Summary:
The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. This role involves supervising the accounting team, managing financial processes, reviewing reports, and providing insights for business decisions. The Accounting Supervisor ensures that all financial transactions adhere to company policies and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervision & Team Management
- Lead, train, and mentor the accounting staff to ensure accuracy and efficiency in financial tasks.
- Assign duties and monitor the performance of accounting personnel.
- Conduct regular team meetings to discuss updates, address challenges, and implement process improvements.
2. Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Ensure timely submission of financial reports for management review.
- Analyze financial data to provide recommendations for business decisions.
3. General Accounting & Reconciliation
- Supervise daily accounting operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards (PFRS/GAAP).
- Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities.
4. Tax Compliance & Government Regulations
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of BIR tax returns (VAT, EWT, income tax, etc.).
- Prepare financial documents for government audits and ensure compliance with local regulations.
- Stay updated on tax laws and regulations affecting the business.
5. Accounts Payable & Receivable Management
- Oversee the processing of invoices, supplier payments, and expense reimbursements.
- Monitor accounts receivable collections and ensure timely posting of payments.
- Ensure accurate reconciliation of supplier and customer accounts.
6. Budgeting & Cost Control
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the company’s budget.
- Work closely with the Finance Controller to analyze costs and recommend cost-saving measures.
- Support inventory and cost management in coordination with purchasing and warehouse teams.
7. Audit & Internal Controls
- Ensure proper documentation and internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary records and reports.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accounting efficiency.
8. Payroll & Expense Monitoring
- Oversee payroll processing and ensure salary computations are accurate.
- Review company expenses and identify areas for financial optimization.
9. Other Responsibilities
- Work closely with other departments to support financial decision-making.
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation for easy retrieval.
- Perform other accounting-related duties as assigned by the Finance Controller.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of Philippine taxation laws, BIR compliance, and financial reporting standards (PFRS/GAAP).
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Xero) and Microsoft Excel (financial modeling, pivot tables).
- Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and manage a team effectively.
- CPA license is an advantage but not required.
Work Schedule & Location:
- Full-time position based at Bo’s Coffee Head Office.
- Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime during financial deadlines or audits.
