Job Summary

We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing appointment scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, and administrative tasks. This role requires excellent communication skills, familiarity with dental software systems, and a strong understanding of medical and dental terminology. The Dental Receptionist plays a vital role in ensuring smooth office operations and providing exceptional patient service.

Duties

  • Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out procedures
  • Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and cancel appointments using Dentrix or similar dental software
  • Manage multi-line phone systems to answer inquiries and direct calls appropriately
  • Verify patient insurance information and update electronic medical records accurately
  • Collect payments, co-pays, and process billing transactions efficiently
  • Maintain organized patient records in electronic medical records systems
  • Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all necessary documentation is completed prior to appointments
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and correspondence
  • Coordinate with dental staff to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Uphold confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations

Requirements

  • Prior experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a dental or medical office setting preferred
  • Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Dentrix and Epic is highly desirable
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry and healthcare
  • Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently and professionally
  • Office experience in a fast-paced environment preferred
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a friendly demeanor
  • Prior administrative experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous

Pay: $18.77-$32.45 per hour
