Dsp (Direct Support Professional)

Overview
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a crucial role in providing compassionate care and support to individuals with disabilities or special needs.

Monday-Friday 3:30PM-7:30PM (end time is flexible)

Duties

• Transporting client from day program to their home.
• Assist client with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
• Provide support in cleaning and organizing home, ensuring a clean and safe living environment.
• Observe and document clients' health status, including vital signs and any changes in condition.
• Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's unique needs and preferences.
• Maintain open communication with family members, healthcare professionals, and other team members regarding client progress and concerns.
• Administer CPR and first aid when required, ensuring the safety of clients at all times.

Skills

• Experience in home health care or developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Must be comfortable handling tonic clonic seizures and following written protocol, including administering rescue medicine as needed.
• Strong patient observation skills to recognize changes in client behavior or health status.
• Proficiency in basic nursing skills such as taking vital signs and providing personal care assistance.
• Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others achieve their goals for independence.
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and team members.
• Clean driving record.
• CPR certification.
• Background check and fingerprinting required before hiring.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
