General Handyman

About Us

We are a locally owned real estate and property management company with a portfolio of approximately 65 rental properties, primarily in Clay County, Missouri. We are seeking a reliable, skilled, and self-motivated Handyman to join our team full-time to help maintain and improve our properties.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform general property maintenance and repairs across multiple properties.
• Handle basic plumbing tasks: unclogging drains, repairing leaks, replacing fixtures, etc.
• Perform simple electrical work: replacing outlets, switches, light fixtures, breakers, etc.
• Diagnose and complete minor HVAC repairs and maintenance (knowledge of HVAC systems is a big plus).
• Complete carpentry and drywall repairs, door/window fixes, painting, and other handyman tasks.
• Troubleshoot maintenance issues and provide cost-effective repair solutions.
• Perform preventative maintenance to reduce long-term repair costs.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from tenants and property management.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.

Qualifications

• Proven handyman, maintenance, or related construction experience (at least 2 years preferred).
• Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Must be detail-oriented, dependable, and professional in communication with tenants and staff.

Preferred Skills

• HVAC experience or certification (strongly preferred but not required).
• Experience with residential rental property maintenance.
• Basic knowledge of tools, equipment, and safety procedures.
