Landscape Laborer

Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Assist with landscape maintenance including mowing, edging, pruning, and trimming trees and shrubs to ensure healthy growth and aesthetic appeal
• Operate hand tools and power tools safely for tasks such as planting, digging, and installing landscape features
• Support the installation of hardscape elements like patios, walkways, retaining walls, and other structures
• Perform lawn care duties such as aeration, fertilization, watering, and snow plowing during appropriate seasons
• Maintain irrigation systems by inspecting for leaks or clogs and making necessary adjustments or repairs
• Conduct general site cleanup, debris removal, and ensure safety protocols are followed during all activities
• Assist with equipment maintenance including basic repairs on excavators or other machinery to ensure optimal operation

Qualifications

• Prior experience or knowledge in landscaping, horticulture, or construction is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates
• Mechanical knowledge related to power tools, hand tools, and small machinery such as excavators is advantageous
• Familiarity with lawn care practices including mowing, fertilizing, and irrigation system management
• Ability to perform physical tasks outdoors in various weather conditions; strong stamina and attention to safety are essential
• Knowledge of tree care techniques including trimming and pruning is a plus
• Basic understanding of landscape maintenance procedures and gardening principles
• Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn new skills in landscaping and hardscape installation
