Optometric Assistant / Optician

Primaris Vision is redefining how eye care fits into a patient’s overall health. As part of the Primaris Health team, our clinic integrates optometry into a broader, collaborative medical environment—ensuring that eye health is connected, coordinated, and never siloed.

We are seeking a detail-oriented, patient-focused Optometric Assistant and/or Licensed Optician to join our growing team.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform pre-testing (OCT, visual fields, auto-refraction, retinal imaging)
• Assist the optometrist with examinations and procedures
• Provide patient education on eye health, treatment plans, and products
• Optical dispensing, frame styling, and lens recommendations
• Coordinate patient flow within a multidisciplinary clinic setting
• Maintain accurate and thorough electronic medical records
• Support front-end operations and patient coordination as needed

Qualifications

• Experience in optometry or optical practice preferred
• Licensed Optician (or working toward licensure) is an asset
• Strong communication skills and a patient-first mindset
• Comfortable working in a collaborative, healthcare team environment
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Experience with EMR systems and digital diagnostic equipment is an asset
