In Freight, Claims and Demurrage, you will join a team of 8 talented and welcoming colleagues.

Reporting to the Head of Freight & Claims, Singapore, you will be responsible for managing voyage-related claims, maximizing recoveries, and reducing the Company’s financial exposure. The role works closely with Operations, Chartering, Finance, Legal, and external stakeholders to ensure claims are handled efficiently, disputes are resolved promptly, and the Company’s contractual rights are protected.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the voyage claims portfolio and ensure all recovery opportunities are identified, pursued, and resolved in a timely manner.
• Support Chartering and Operations teams by identifying potential claim risks and advising on strategies to mitigate commercial exposure.
• Identify recurring issues and trends that may result in claims, disputes, or financial losses and recommend preventive actions.
• Drive process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency, reducing claim exposure, and strengthening recovery performance.
• Work closely with Operations, Chartering, Legal, and Finance teams to ensure effective management and resolution of claims.
• Provide guidance and support on claims-related matters to internal stakeholders.
• Share knowledge, lessons learned, and best practices across the Claims team and the wider organization.
Support and mentor team members, helping to develop their technical, contractual, and commercial understanding.

• Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills are essential, together with the ability to work effectively across multiple functions and cultures.
