Cashier

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, efficiently handle transactions, and maintain a welcoming shopping environment. Experience with POS systems, cash handling, and retail sales is preferred. Bilingual skills and supervising experience are a plus, but not required. This role offers an opportunity to develop valuable skills in retail operations, merchandising, and customer engagement.

Duties

• Operate POS systems accurately to process sales transactions
• Greet customers warmly and assist with product inquiries
• Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with precision and integrity
• Maintain knowledge of store products for effective upselling and product demos
• Assist with merchandising, stocking shelves, and organizing displays
• Ensure the sales area is clean, organized, and welcoming for customers
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions and resolving issues promptly
• Promote store promotions and special offers to enhance sales opportunities
• Support team members with supervising responsibilities when needed
• Follow phone etiquette standards when communicating with customers over the phone

Requirements

• Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store setting preferred
• Strong communication skills and friendly demeanor
• Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately
• Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures
• Ability to upsell products and assist with product demos effectively
• Bilingual abilities are advantageous for serving diverse customers
• Experience in supervising or leading a team is a plus but not mandatory
• Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, and retail sales practices
• Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

Pay: $10.00 - $14.00 per hour
