Summary

We are seeking a casual Personal Support Worker (PSW) to join our caring team at Peoples Park Tower. This vital role involves supporting our residents' daily needs and enhancing their quality of life within our vibrant senior community.

In this role, you will provide essential support and care to our residents. Your contributions will be vital in fostering a fulfilling and enjoyable environment for our residents.

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Health Care Manager, Personal Support Workers are responsible for assisting with daily routines, performing assigned personal care, housekeeping duties, and maintaining a safe environment for our residents. PSWs provide companionship and emotional support to enhance residents' well-being.

The PSW will complete various reports and documentation and adhere to established department policies and procedures regarding quality assurance, safety, environment and infection control. The PSW will observe general physical and emotional well being, and document various resident care activities in accordance with facility policy.

• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with Residents, families, and healthcare teams.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect the dignity of all Residents.

Other:

• Must have PSW certification or actively enrolled in Nursing program (LPN or RN)
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with residents.
• Compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality care.
• RCMP security clearance no more than 30 days old
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Must be available to work all shifts in a 24/7 environment

The successful candidate will have their PSW certification (or greater). If you do not have PSW Certification (or greater), please do not apply as your resume will not be considered. Candidates must also have a current First Aid certification.

We do have part time PSWs with guarantee of 30 hours a week and full time PSWs with a guarantee of 35 hours a week, and we offer those positions to our existing casual PSWs.
