About the Role

Salt on the Pier is looking for a skilled and reliable cook to join our kitchen team. This is a hands-on role focused on the consistent preparation, seasoning, and cooking of high-quality dishes in our busy commercial kitchen. You will work under the direction of the Head Chef to ensure every plate meets our standards and every guest leaves satisfied.

Key Responsibilities

• Food Preparation & Cooking: Prepare, season, and cook a wide variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards.
• Quality Control: Examine foodstuffs to ensure freshness and quality; regulate temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment.
• Plating & Presentation: Portion food accurately and apply gravies, sauces, and garnishes to ensure professional presentation.
• Kitchen Operations: Clean and maintain food preparation areas and equipment to uphold strict food safety and hygiene standards.
• Stock Management: Assist in storing food in temperature-controlled facilities and monitoring inventory to reduce waste.
• Dietary Compliance: Prepare meals to meet specific customer dietary requirements or allergies.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a professional commercial kitchen
• Skills: Strong technical cooking skills, including the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliability: A dedicated team player who is punctual and thrives under pressure.
• Communication: Fluent English is required to communicate effectively with the kitchen and front-of-house teams.
