Responsibilities

• Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, clipping, and styling tailored to each dog’s breed, size, and individual needs
• Handle dogs safely and confidently using proper animal restraint techniques to ensure a stress-free experience for pets and staff
• Maintain a clean, organized grooming area by sanitizing tools and workspaces regularly
• Assess each dog’s health condition, noting any signs of skin issues, allergies, or injuries, and communicate concerns to pet owners or veterinary staff as needed
• Provide excellent customer service by discussing grooming preferences with pet owners and offering advice on at-home pet care and maintenance
• Assist with pet handling during grooming procedures using animal handling skills developed through veterinary or kennel experience
• Support team efforts in pet sitting or kennel duties when required, demonstrating versatility in animal care responsibilities

Qualifications

• Proven experience in pet grooming with a strong understanding of different coat types and breed standards
• Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary experience is highly desirable
• Skilled in animal handling, restraint, and pet care practices to ensure safety for pets and staff
• Background in veterinary technician or assistant roles adds valuable insight into animal health considerations
• Ability to lift heavy objects such as tubs or equipment safely when necessary
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
• Prior kennel or animal care experience preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential
