Line Cook

Job Summary
Our line cook role is a uniquely hybrid position: Perla is a one-of-a-kind restaurant located in Maplewood and recently named in the top 10 of all seafood restaurants of NJ, serving a wide-range of shellfish and seafood, tapas and bistro-style dishes. Small plates / fast-paced. We have been open for nearly 2 years and just now getting into our busiest season. Perla's kitchen concept is open, counter-style, and guest-facing, where all of the cooks deal directly with guests. THIS IS A TIPPED POSITION

Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve food and beverages
- Maintain cleanliness of the counter area and deliver superior hospitality
- Follow food safety standards and guidelines, work cleanly
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely output

Requirements
- Knowledge of menu planning and food preparation
- Familiarity with food safety practices
- Previous experience in a food service role
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and customer service orientation
- Experience in fine dining or dietary department is advantageous
- Proficiency in handling knives and food items

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $30.00 per hour
