Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring quality and consistency.
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting new dishes and refining existing recipes to enhance flavor profiles.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Handle food with care, ensuring proper storage, portioning, and presentation for optimal freshness and appeal.
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food efficiently while maintaining high standards.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy hours, serving guests promptly and courteously.
- Follow all food handling procedures, including proper knife skills, to ensure safety and efficiency in meal preparation.
Experience
Candidates should possess prior experience in a food service environment, ideally within restaurants or catering settings. Specific experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is a plus, demonstrating familiarity with specialized meal preparations. A background in culinary arts or kitchen experience—covering food preparation, cooking techniques, and food industry standards—is highly valued. Candidates should demonstrate strong knife skills, knowledge of food safety protocols, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting. Previous experience in the food industry with a focus on meal preparation, food handling, and serving will help ensure success in this role.
